I’ve had the pleasure of working with them on not one, but two major projects over the years, and every time, I’m left saying “Wow.” The skill, efficiency, and attention to detail are off the charts.Now, let’s talk about my incredible project managers—Rachel and Charlotte. These ladies are rockstars. They tackled my historic home downtown and my newer place on John’s Island, two projects that couldn’t be more different! Both times, the timelines were tight, but quality? Never once did it feel like a compromise. This team gets it, and I couldn’t be happier with the results. If you’re looking for a crew that can handle it all, Rockwell’s your go-to.
Rockwell did an excellent job on the small kitchen update in our 1870 Charleston single. Rick and Masheed met with us quickly and offered excellent design options. Our project manager, Rachel, was tremendous - responding to all our questions and needs promptly and accurately, overseeing the project with great care. From the moment we met with Masheed and Rick, we knew we wanted to partner with them for our total home renovation. Rockwell Construction took on our project with the same care, respect and enthusiasm they would as if it was their own home. They are an organized construction company, with an incredible team of workmen/women and they are consistent in the subs they continue to work with for many years. Relationships in building are important to us, most especially when it came to our forever home and Rockwell Construction delivered above and beyond throughout the whole process. Our renovation, which took approximately 1.5 years and was just completed this Spring 2024, was made possible by the gifted Project Managers Rockwell employs, who were part of the process every step of the way. Our Project Manager, Rachel, took daily notes, photos and uploaded those to BuilderTrend so that all parties were on board with daily progress and project to-do’s. Billing was also a smooth process and there were never the surprises one hears about with construction change-orders because Rockwell Construction was so communicative and involved us in the process of any bidding of subs, estimates, etc. On top of all of this, they are highly skilled in the building trade and have worked on many different kinds of building projects: renovation, both historical and modern, so our project benefited from their collective expertise. Their experience in building also allowed us to engage in a lot of Design-build in the beginning which made for a better result at the end of the project (for instance, addition of more windows during framing, swapping storage and bathroom spaces to capture views). To walk away from a major renovation and for both parties, the homeowner and the builder, to be able to say “we enjoyed that experience and would work with one together again” is a pretty incredible phenomenon in the building industry. I would not hesitate to highly recommend Rockwell Construction to anyone who wanted to work with a thoughtful, purposeful and highly skilled company for their project.
Rockwell Construction completed a fantastic addition and bathroom remodel of our home in downtown Charleston. They did an incredible job of working within our budget and our timing needs to deliver an incredible finished product that we absolutely love. When we purchased our 1870 home we very quickly realized it had been quite some time since anyone had given it much care and love. We feel incredibly fortunate to have been introduced to Rick Rockwell by our neighbors. From the first time he stepped into the house and started conversation we knew what great love and passion he has for old and historic buildings. Rick and everyone on the Rockwell team including his wife Masheed (who is truly a gem) always had our best interest at heart and love what they do. Our project manager was invaluable and always there for us to address our questions and concerns. Never having taken on a project of this size we don’t know what we would have done without their attention to detail, excellent craftsmen and expert knowledge. The Rockwell’s are the best at what they do and kind and caring people. We would recommend them to anyone without hesitation!
