I’ve had the opportunity to work with J&J for several years now and they’ve always been a great company to work with. In this industry it’s not always easy to find contractors who are consistent, communicate well, and stand behind the quality of their work, but J&J does all three.Their team is very responsive and easy to work with. Communication is always clear, which makes a huge difference when coordinating projects and timelines. They stay on top of things and are always willing to work through details to make sure the end result comes out right. The quality they produce is always solid and you can tell their team genuinely cares about delivering a good finished product.We’ve worked together on multiple projects over the years and they’ve consistently been reliable and dependable. I can say that working with Rob, Nick and the whole team at J&J was a great experience. With that being said I will be comprehensive in my review.Pros:J&J produces quality work and takes pride in their craftsmanship. They were transparent on their subs and pricing. As someone who works in the commercial construction industry I would recommend people to ask questions even if it seems dumb. Rob has the patience to work with you and make sure everything is done correctly; however you need to communicate and ask questions if something is not clear to make sure there are no miscommunications. On our project I was even guilty of miscommunicating which my wife caught before anything was done incorrectly.Cons:J&J has more than just 1 project going on at a time and with more projects the management becomes difficult. A few times subcontractors would come to my house and I'd have to direct them how to get in through my video doorbell (highly recommend as subcontractors aren't given your number typically).This wasn't always J&Js fault as the majority of the time the subcontractors' manager was the one who didn't communicate. As a best practice I would reach out to the project manager at the beginning of each week to see what the schedule is just so you are aware incase something is miscommunicated. With that said, the majority of the time there were no issues getting access.The other con is that you can't always control your subcontractors. Some days we got the best employees of the subcontractors and other days they weren't the best. I don't believe that reflects poorly on J&J. What did reflect their true professionalism was that every single mistake we had ended up getting corrected in a timely manner. It won't always happen the next day but they made sure it didn't hold up our schedule.Conclusion:J&J was a pleasure to work with, I have recommended them to friends, family, and clients of mine. Given the chance I would work with them again in the future and now our kitchen is the focal point of our house. I highly recommend J&J. The owner Rob is lovely to work with. This was our first time doing a project of this scale and he completely managed the entire project from top to bottom. You often hear horror stories with contractors taking advantage, but Rob runs an honest company and does great work. Our custom kitchen is a standout. No homes even comes close to the quality, design, layout, and fixtures. He also has a great custom cabinent/kitchen designer Craig. He’s very thoughtful when designing and he was key and constructing our kitchen, designing our mudroom, and creating a spectacular laundry room with built in storage. This is a one stop shop that’ll give you a designer home at a modest price!
I have an almost hundred year old house with small closets and not enough bathrooms, so I wanted to create a master suite with a bathroom. J&J Quality incorporated everything I wanted into the plans and gave great suggestions to improve on my hazy idea of what the project could be. We converted a large bedroom and the two small closets between it and the master into a bathroom, nursery, and two large walk-in closets. The guys at J&J Quality were so helpful, accessible, kind, and honest that in all my future projects, I will always go to them. They used their great knowledge to trouble shoot problems that are bound to surprise you with old houses, and field permitting and tower district aesthetic limitations. They pay a great attention to detail to make sure all their work is quality and showed great courtesy to me as their customer and someone who had to live with the adventure of construction on my bedroom while eight and nine months pregnant.
