We used Alair for a complete renovation of 2 bathrooms and some other odd job updates in the upstairs of our house. The final product is of the utmost quality and the attention to detail is very well done. Louis Weiher, the owner, does an amazing job of making sure the job is done right. He pays close attention to detail and also hires only top quality general contractors to complete the work. There are no shortcuts.

The pricing model is unique in that it is open pricing, so you see every dollar spent on the project and you can approve or choose to not approve an expense. It takes some getting used to for sure, but generally, we were told we had a chance of getting money back at the end of the project and we did end up getting that because our project went without many surprises.

The planning process wasn't as enjoyable as I would have hoped, but I provided feedback to Alair on this and they immediately took my feedback and made changes that should help future consumers with their experience. I also was not happy with the designer that was chosen for the project, but that feedback was also taken seriously and I do not think she will be used again.

I would definitely recommend for your construction/renovation needs. Just over communicate what you want and how you want the experience to go and Louis and the Alair staff will listen to you and will cater to your needs at the ability of which they are able to. Louis is a great leader for this company.

I cannot recommend Alair enough to anyone looking to do a home remodel. When we began discussing the project we only envisioned adding an additional 3 season room but after a number of conversations and designs they assisted us in seeing how much more functional our home could be if we relocated our kitchen. Everyone on the team was so patient as we expanded the scope of the project and made changes to improve the layout of our home. We ended up doing a full kitchen remodel, adding a dining room and mudroom, basement level, and an upstairs bedroom and bathroom, in addition to a deck. Once the construction phase began it was incredible to see the dedication and commitment to everyone on the team. I felt that Louis and the team loved our home as much as we did and truly took pride in every phase of the project. They paid attention to literally every tiny detail, even ensuring the color of our little library was changed to match the house. It felt like every day I stopped by to check on work I would run into Louis or another team member and they would give me an update. I was so impressed with the way they scheduled the work because it truly felt that there was almost never a wasted day on the project. We were told by so many people about being prepared for the project to take longer than expected and it was incredible how the Alair team ensured they met the deadlines they set. We emphasized over and over again about keeping the character of the home and they ensured that every detail was considered to meet and exceed our expectations. Everyone that has walked through our house has said it just feels like every new room has been here the whole time and that this is the way it should be. Thank you all so much for everything you have done to turn our home into our forever home!

We highly recommend Carmel Builders for your remodeling project. The first call to Carmel Builders was professional and informative and after learning about their process, we knew we wanted to partner with them. They have outstanding design and layout support and expert staff for finishes and fixtures!
Every aspect of the project from design through construction was tracked and documented in a project management system, making it very easy to know what was happening and when. Our project manager met with us weekly to review what happened the previous week and what we could expect the following week. These weekly meetings allowed us to discuss any questions we may have had. Carmel has longer term subcontractors and suppliers, which speaks to the reputable company they are. If you are thinking about remodeling, give them a call, you won’t be disappointed!!

My husband and I were looking to remodel our Master Bath. We heard about Carmel Builders through our friends, family, and neighbors and they all had positive things to say, agreeing that the process was hassle free. Our existing space was “funky” due to the layout, and we needed more space. We knew our home is our forever home, and an important aspect was to have it look and feel luxurious like an upscale hotel. Since we knew the style we were looking for, the design process was easy and enjoyable. Throughout the design and construction process, we used CoConstruct, a tool used for managing projects. This kept things very organized with all documentation in one area. We loved the fact that we always knew when people were going to be in our home. Remodeling is always emotional, but with the communication tools provided, it was manageable. One thing we didn’t expect were issues with the supply chain. Our faucets were delayed, but Carmel Builders provided a great solution so that we could still use our bathroom until they arrived. Our Project Manager, Art, was great! I highly recommend Carmel Builders and would definitely use them again in the future.
