Will recommend to anyone who asks.Although I am pleased with their work I am more pleased with their ability to problem solve and see a project through to the end. Our project became immensely complicated due to outside factors such as city construction and disagreement from stakeholders as to what the scope of the project should be, but Robin and the team continued to work through and find solutions.

We reached out to MTL Contractors for a kitchen/bathroom/flooring remodel, trusting their strong reviews. At first, communication seemed fine, and we understood our request came during the construction holiday, so we were patient. But even after that, our emails went unanswered until I had to call just to get a reply.Their customer service rep, was slightly passive aggressive but still apologetic. Although, we never received a clear timeline and had to chase them repeatedly for a revised quote. We also met the owner, and initially felt a good synergy for the project. However, as we asked questions about adjusting the scope to fit our budget - such as handling certain tasks ourselves or sourcing some items differently - it seemed unwelcome. We got the impression they viewed us as “cheap” clients simply because we wanted to be smart with our money.When we finally received the revised $80k+ quote, we asked something very reasonable: to see the kitchen cabinet materials in person or meet the cabinet maker before committing. For a project of this size, this felt like a basic step. Instead, they told us we had to provide a deposit first, before seeing any samples or materials. When we explained we weren’t comfortable with that, they abruptly told us it was “not a good fit” and ended the relationship.We found this very unprofessional. We weren’t asking for anything unusual - only to confirm material quality before signing on to such a major project. Instead, they dismissed us without warning. Sadly, they lost not just our business but also the referrals we would have gladly given. A disappointing experience overall.
