I own a Sears Kit Home, built by my grandfather in the 1920’s. It needed repairs, updates and a general spiffing up. I wanted to keep the home true to its original form as much as possible. Also, I wanted someone who appreciates and respects older construction and materials to do the work.After interviewing several remodeling/renovation companies, some who insisted on tearing out walls, John McCloskey walked in and smiled at the craftsmanship and understood my house. He saw the foibles found in old homes, like the sloped flooring. And came up with a quick and easy fix. Jessica did a fantastic job walking me through the process, selecting fixtures, coordinating contractors, and keeping me updated on the project. I live elsewhere and she accommodated my schedule when I came into town to see the progress. The crew were respectful of my home and property and were polite and patient with all my questions.I can honestly say, I was very pleased with the JFrancis team from start to finish. I think my six year old granddaughter summed it up perfectly, “This house feels the best of all the houses I know. I am going to live here someday.”

ABSOLUTELY AMAZING. J Francis renovated our horrible 80’s bathroom. It is now a lightly mid century modern to go with the rest of our house. They do beautiful work. Our home was 100 years old and needed major updates including entire home rewiring, structural beams and supports in the basement, new roof, all new flooring, gut renovation of kitchen, 2.5 bathrooms and laundry room. The quality of the work completed by the designer, project manager, carpenters and subcontractors is the best in the area.When we started searching for our contractor we knew we wanted a design/build company and one with extensive experience renovating old homes. These projects require experience, craftsmanship, and planning to make sure the project stays on budget and with the least amount of surprises you can hope for. J Francis was the first on our list to interview about seven design/build firms in the city. After interviewing the prospective candidates for the job, we knew we wanted J Francis and never looked back. We will only work with them in the future.Every time we would talk to someone about our experience, we had only positive things to say, which is very difficult to say nowadays.
