This year I decided that it was time for a remodel of bathrooms and kitchen and decided to contract with Modern Remodeling. When I met Alon from MODERN it was clear he was knowledgeable, experienced, and committed. I immediately had the sense that he—and anyone working under him—would treat both the project and my home with respect and care.
Throughout this remodel, Alon was supportive, communicative, reliable, and deeply collaborative.
Every member of the MODERN team who entered my home reflected the same values. They showed up on time, worked hard, were always respectful and friendly, and treated my home as if it were their own. Their workmanship was consistently excellent.
The finished result has exceeded my expectations, and every person who visited my home complimented the quality and beauty of the work.
I would enthusiastically and without hesitation recommend MODERN to anyone considering a remodel.

I hired Modern Home Remodeling for a full kitchen remodel plus several additional projects (new fascia/gutters, attic insulation, closet reconfigurations, new windows, and removal of a sliding-door closet). While the final look is acceptable, the experience was stressful and poorly managed.

Planning & Preparation:

Key items I discussed repeatedly — like under-cabinet lighting and floating shelves — were completely forgotten, even though shelves were in the design. I ended up ordering them myself. The fire-rated garage door we agreed on wasn’t even looked into until the kitchen was nearly done; I was then told ordering one would delay completion by four weeks. I later found the same door at Home Depot with no issue, which made it clear the planning was careless.

Communication:

Communication from Alon, the project manager, was vague and inconsistent. I often didn’t know when the crew would arrive or what they’d be working on. Itemized pricing was never provided, and I even received an invoice with thousands in discrepancies I had to dispute. Miscommunication between Alon and the foreman was constant, and I frequently had to act as the intermediary.

Workmanship & Detail:

I found numerous quality issues: chipped cabinets, sloppy caulking, unfilled nail holes, and a gap in the new flooring. Cabinet add-ons were not ordered until after installation, many didn’t fit my shaker-style cabinets, and the “magic corner” add-on was mismeasured and unusable. I also had to request basic finishing touches that should have been standard.

Respect for My Home:

The crew left a large hole in a wall during demo despite knowing I had cats, and the jobsite was often left messy with screws and debris. Dust control was done too late, and my garage — used as a workspace — was left coated in fine dust and wood particles.

For what I paid ($90,000 for all, with the majority of cost being for the kitchen), I expected professionalism and attention to detail. Instead, I experienced disorganization, poor communication, and avoidable mistakes. I would not hire this company again.

Together we drafted a plan based on my vision, he refined the details of the plan, recommended the materials and brought it all together. We are delighted with the work done by Modern Home Remodeling, to install a classy tiled shower, repaint the interior and replace carpets. Their project manager clearly listened to our needs and wants = to freshen rather than redesign, to keep the oak vanities and good-condition countertops, to correct small “problems” that we’d lived with for decades, and to focus on changes that we’ll enjoy in the ten years that we still plan to live in this home. The tiled shower transformed the shower experience, brought spaciousness to a small room, and was done by an accommodating and experienced crew.

The project manager expedited the schedule, committing to a start date of February 20 but beginning the work a month earlier and finishing by February 28, 2023. He brought tile and carpet samples to the house, that both followed the earth tones in our home and created a light pattern-rich tiled shower. Our disruption and moving of personal items was minimized as the painting was done in four days and was followed three days later by a one-day carpet installation. Overall, this remodeling brought us upgrades that we already enjoy, a month of amicable and focused contractors, and efficient planning and execution by Modern Home Remodeling and its subcontractors. Alon helped me design and execute a multi-room, outdoor patio, and pool renovation. He was very willing to discuss ideas and provide answers to all my questions. Once my designs were set her rapidly assembled a team in order to execute. During the jobs when questions needed answers he was very willing to accommodate my busy schedule by coming late at night to discuss a new problem or seek resolution.

Excellent work all around and I would absolutely recommend to anybody appreciating quality work and customer service.
