In the fall of 2025, i hired dsi contracting to rebuild our foundation wall since the other contractor we hired did not fix it properly since we were so naive to know any better. Dan the owner explained to us how to do it properly and went above and beyond to rebuild the foundation wall 10 times stronger than it was before. I wish i would've hired him the first time since we lost all of our money with the other companie which had no idea what they were doing or just simply ripped us off. Dsi contracting's crew are truly thunder bays basement experts, I never thought possible that someone could fixe our wall and drain the water out of the basement like he did. Hes been around for over 16 years specializing in foundations. He has a bulletproof 5 year warranty so he will not do a quick job, he spends the time and effort so that you are happy as a customer.
After three quotes from three contractors we hired Dan to fix our wet basement problem in the summer of 2025. Our home is over 100 years old with stone foundation. He installed new weeping pipes at the foundation footing and tied them in to an existing sump pump. He cleaned, parged, insulated and waterproofed the stone wall foundation. The work was challenging with an above grade extension and deck at the back leaving only about 3 feet of head space to get in and dig down to the footings. One contractor told us the deck would have to be removed and later replaced at our expense before they would consider the job. Dan worked around this challenge digging by hand and saving us thousands not having to demolish and replace the extension and deck.Dan also identified to us that the front porch and 2nd floor balcony above it was built on floating beams extending out from the front foundation but not supported by peers. It had sagged significantly over the decades. Since he was on site, he fixed this as well with very favourable costing. Dan took many photos of the work as he did it. His quote was competitive and his work outstanding! He was on time, on budget, and inspired confidence in everything he did. It is very clear that he takes pride in his work at every step of the job. We met with Dan prior to the job. Very professional and focused on customer service. Assessed scope of job well. Removed contaminated dirt, installed weeping tile, applied tar film to walls, Styrofoam and refilled with new soil. Ground was leveled on completion. Leaking basement was fixed completely to our satisfaction. New sump pump was installed. Overall job was very well done. I recommend DSI
