We had the good fortune to hire Dave Novak of Island Builders to do a major repair. Our woodframe double glazed windows had slow leaked and damaged the envelope of our house. Dave laid out a plan within our budget and time frame to address the damage, replace the windows and install a rain screened envelope with new siding to replace old asbestos contaminated shingles.Dave is a great communicator, attentive to all details and throughout we knew our project was in good, trustworthy hands. His crew were competent, consistently hard working, careful and courteous. Dave also integrated a last minute addition of ours- a heat pump and electrical power upgrade- into the main project.He followed up in 6 and 12 months after the project. We could not be more satisfied, and pleased to recommend his company.
This is very rare for me to say, but I wish I could give 6 stars. Dave and his Island Builders team worked with us from design to 100% completion on a beautiful master suite addition to our Victoria character home.We were not very experienced with building or renos, and Dave patiently helped us through every step of the way. He and his team wisely purchased materials well in advance to avoid unexpected cost increases or supply chain issues. The carpenters and tradespeople were high caliber, friendly and respectful. Every single one of our questions were answered promptly and completely. Island Builders were very easy to work with from start to finish. They provided a site manager who was a good communicator and kept the site clean at the end of each day. The owner communicated immediately about any questions or issues. The subtrades provided excellent work and returned if there were any small details missed or needed fixing. Even now, one and a half years later, I received immediate attention for a small granite chip. We highly recommend this company.
